Though we live in a day of great uncertainty, God’s inerrant Word tells us that we can be certain of Eternal Life. The Bible says, “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God” (I John 5:13).
Eternal Life assuredly awaits all those who put their faith and trust solely in Christ’s substitutionary death (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5a, I Peter 3:18a). Jesus Christ teaches us in His Word, “I am the way the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6).
So, how can you be certain of Eternal Life? You must repent of your sin (Acts 3:19a) and place your trust completely in Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31a). The certainty of salvation rests in the assuring promise that “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13a).
Admit that you have sinned against God and have fallen short of His standard of perfection (Romans 3:23). Believe that Jesus Christ took your punishment by dying on the cross, rose victoriously from the grave, and is Lord (Romans 6:23). Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior.
